Alloy 3003 aluminum plate is the most widely used of all aluminum alloys. A commercially pure aluminum with added manganese to increase its strength (20% stronger than the 1100 grade). It has excellent corrosion resistance, and workability. This grade can be deep drawn or spun, welded or brazed.
Aluminum plates 3003 are widely used in industrial, construction, decoration, capacitor, packing material and so on.
The machinability rating for 3003 aluminum is 97 percent, compared to 2011 alloys, which are 100 percent. It can be easily welded using typical welding methods. No heat treating can be used.
