Mechanical properties and heat treatment of 5052 aluminium

Main components of 5052 aluminium: Si, Fe, Cu, Mn, Mg, Cr, Zn, Zr, Al. 5052 aluminium alloy belongs to Al-Mg alloy, which is widely used, especially in the construction industry. It is the most promising alloy. It has good corrosion resistance, good weldability, good cold workability and medium strength.

5052 aluminium is a A-Mg rust-proof aluminium alloy. Its chemical composition is similar to that of 5A02 aluminium alloy and its properties are basically the same as that of 5A02 aluminium alloy. The aluminium alloy has high plasticity and low strength, and good corrosion resistance and weldability. In annealing state, the machinability of the alloy is poor.

5052 anodize quality aluminum is used for parts requiring good formability and corrosion resistance, high fatigue limit, good weldability and medium static load, such as aircraft fuel and oil conduit, fuel tank, parts and components of various marine and land cloud equipment, cold stamping parts, sheet metal products, street lamp pillars; materials used as rivets or welding rods.

Mechanical properties of 5052 aluminium sheet plate:

(1) Tensile strength B (MPa) 173-244

(2) Conditional yield strength 02 (MPa) 270

(3) Density 2.68 g/cubic centimeter

(4) Sample size: all wall thickness

Specification for heat treatment of 5052 aluminium sheet:

1. Homogeneous annealing heating at 440 C for 12-14 h air cooling.

2. Rapid annealing: heating 350-410C for 30-120 min; air or water cooling

3. High temperature annealing: when the thickness of finished product is more than 6 mm or less than 6 mm at 350-420 C, the holding time is 2.

10 min or 10~30 mn; air cooling

4. Low-temperature annealing: heating 250-300 degrees C or 150-180 degrees C; holding time 1-2 hours, air-cooled.
